SHIRECU is engaged in the following functions, in accordance with the terms of its By Law:-
Purchasing cotton from farmers through their grassroots associations, under their liberal terms and policies.
Transporting/scouring cotton seeds, cotton fibers, cotton seeds and other cotton by-products and agricultural inputs using its own vehicles, to various locations as required.
Manage and operate its 2 cotton ginning factories (ginneries) and 1 other cottonseed oil processing factory (oilmills).
To disseminate cooperative education to farmers, member cooperatives, cooperative boards and their employees.
Buying and selling inputs to farmers through their primary cooperatives.
Encourage farmers to join primary cooperatives.
To disseminate agricultural education and crop quality to its members through various means.
